Lenovo created a lot of hype when they were just teasing the Z5. In a photo that they released before, it appears that the upcoming smartphone will sport a truly bezel-less screen. But now that the Lenovo Z5 is official, the company disappoints everyone because it still has a screen notch on top.

Besides the display notch, the Lenovo Z5 also has a noticeably thick chin bezel. But to their credit, the device has one of the thinnest side bezels around — or at least that’s what the renders tell us.

Speaking of the screen, what we have here is a 6.2-inch IPS Full HD+ display. Right from the screen, you can already tell that this device only sits in the midrange segment.

With that said, the Lenovo Z5 is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 octa-core processor, 6GB of RAM, and an option between 64GB or 128GB of expandable storage.

Lenovo Z5 also comes with a dual camera setup — one of the trends in smartphones today. There are 16-megapixel and 8-megapixel shooters on the back, packed with tons of AI-powered capabilities. These Artificial Intelligence (AI) shenanigans are also present on the 8-megapixel selfie camera on the front.

The Lenovo Z5 runs on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box with ZUI 4.0. Lenovo’s Vice President promised an Android P update once it becomes available. However, let’s hope that the promise is not just a PR stunt like the Z5’s supposed bezel-less screen.
