ASUS made quite splash at COMPUTEX this year. The company went a little crazy with their new ASUS ROG Phone, but they are not stopping there. The popular Taiwanese brand announced their new ASUS ZenBook Pro — a laptop with a freaking 5.5-inch touchscreen as its trackpad.
Dubbed as the ScreenPad, this 5.5-inch screen is meant to improve the multitasking experience while using the machine. And unlike what Apple did with the MacBook’s TouchBar, what ASUS did on this laptop actually looks more useful.
The ScreenPad has a 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution, which makes it feel like a real smartphone docked right on the ASUS ZenBook Pro. The large display touchpad will act as an app launcher, numeric keypad, or any kind of quick controls for a particular app that’s projected on the actual screen.
Going back to the laptop, the machine is available in two flavors. There’s the ASUS ZenBook Pro 14 and the ASUS ZenBook Pro 15. The former is available in a 14-inch Full HD panel, while the latter has a 15.6-inch 4K touchscreen and a standard Full HD non-touchscreen variant.
The ZenBook Pro 14 is equipped with an 8th-gen Intel Core i7 processor, NVIDIA GTX 1050 Max-Q GPU, up to 16GB of DDR4 RAM, up to 1TB of PCIe SSD and an IR camera.
On the other hand, the ZenBook Pro 15 is expectedly more powerful as it runs on either an Intel Core i7 or Core i9 six-core 8th-generation processors. It is also partnered with an NVIDIA GTX 1050 Ti GPU, up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of PCIe storage.
Since these machines are part of ASUS’ premium laptop line-up, the ZenBook Pro is really dressed to kill. They have a metal finish with ASUS’ signature circular design on the lid.
The new ASUS ZenBook Pro 15 will become available in the Philippines as early as this month. Check out the official prices below:
