Nubia Z17: Snapdragon 835 CPU, 8GB RAM, Quick Charge 4.0

Nubia Z17 - NoypiGeeks

There’s a new crazy smartphone at the block. Meet the Nubia Z17, a Chinese-exclusive device that has pretty much all of the high-end components out there.

For starters, this beast’s bragging rights is its Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+ support. It is said to be the first smartphone to ever support the updated technology. This thing can go from 0% to 50% of battery charge in just 25 minutes. Also, this is the second Chinese-branded device to come equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835. If you’re curious, Xiaomi’s Mi 6 got first dibs on the latest SoC.

And if you taught this new phone from an underrated brand is done, you’re wrong. The Nubia Z17 has a ridiculous 8GB of RAM. We clearly have no idea how can anyone utilize that much of memory, but it’s there in case there’s a need for it. It also has dual cameras at the back (23-megapixel and 12-megapixel), and equally crazy 16-megapixel at the front.

Other notable features are the stunning bezel-less design, Dolby Atmos support, water resistance, and an IR blaster which we taught are already dead by now.

This phone is obviously the bigger brother of the previously announced Nubia Z17 Mini. It is quite odd that the miniaturized version came first, but I think it doesn’t matter now.

What really matters is the device’s availability. With such top-notch specs, it’s would be really disappointing if we wouldn’t get our hands on it here in the Philippines. Currently, the Nubia Z17 is only available in China. The 6GB/128GB retails for CNY3,399 (~Php24,700), 8GB/128GB at CNY3,999 (~Php29,000). There’s also a relatively cheaper option with only 6GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage for CNY2,799 (~Php20,300).
