OPPO’s Find series has always been overlooked in the flagship space. Despite that, the company continued to try its best in coming up with something interesting to gather people’s attention.
We’ve already expressed how impressed we were with its baby brother, the Find X8, in our review of that one. That’s why we’re expecting nothing less with the OPPO Find X8 Pro, even though it won’t be officially available in the Philippines.

Design and Build Quality
I really fell in love with the vanilla Find X8 because of its incredibly sleek and compact design with no substantial compromise in performance. Jumping to the bigger OPPO Find X8 Pro took a bit of adjustment period — a period that was definitely worth it.

It may be larger than the Find X8 and its 6.5-inch screen but compared to other devices with the same 6.78-inch display, the Find X8 Pro feels more reasonably sized. The smooth curves on the sides, corners, and edges feel very comfortable in the hands, while the back-to-back glass material makes the weight acceptable.
The design is much cleaner than its predecessor. There’s a huge circular camera island with all four lenses placed in a cross layout with the iconic Hasselblad logo in the middle. As expected, there’s a substantial camera bump and a stylish ring surrounding the glass that complements its interesting camera system.

OPPO also prioritized durability for the Find X8 Pro. OPPO’s Armour Shield design combines the protection provided by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i in the front and back with an IP68 and IP69 rating for dust and water resistance.
It also has a Splash Touch algorithm, so you can still touch and operate the screen even with wet hands. Meanwhile, the rubber case matches the matte black design of the device, with subtle shimmering elements that adds to the overall premium feel.

Taking a tour, we have a 6.78-inch LTPO OLED screen on the front with ultra-thin bezels and a punch-hole for the selfie camera. There’s also the under-display fingerprint scanner at the bottom part.

OnePlus’ Alert Slider has made it to its sister company’s flagship device. It lets you quickly switch between Silent, Vibrate, and Ring. I’m always impressed every time I test a device with this feature, and I honestly think that it should be on every smartphone out there.

One new feature on the Find X8 Pro is the camera button on the right side. Like the one on the iPhone 16 series, you can quickly launch the camera with a double press. It’s also touch-sensitive, so you can swipe to switch between lenses and zooms.
Its position is low enough so your fingers don’t block the screen when you press the shutter in landscape orientation, but high enough so your thumb can easily reach it in portrait orientation.

Way up top is the volume adjustment and lock/power switch. The buttons are flat, so they sit decently flush on the frame. In addition, it’s incredibly tactile and clicky.

The top has an IR blaster and microphones. At the bottom, we have the SIM tray for two nano SIMs (no microSD slot), a USB-C port, the primary loudspeaker, and another microphone.

The OPPO Find X8 Pro’s elegant, clean, and durable design makes it a good vessel for whatever powerful hardware it has inside — hardware we’re excited to dig deeper into, so let’s move on.
Display and Audio
The OPPO Find X8 Pro has a 6.78-inch 2.8K LTPO OLED display, with a 2780 x 1264 pixel resolution, ~450ppi, 1-120Hz adaptive refresh rate, 4500-nit peak brightness, 2160Hz PWM dimming, and support for both HDR10+ and Dolby Vision.

It doesn’t have the sharpest resolution or the most vibrant, but it’s still excellent for a flagship device. Images look incredibly sharp, colors pop, contrast is deep, and the large screen real estate is great for multitasking and reading documents.
The Find X8 Pro also offers ample brightness for outdoor use. HD streaming and Dolby Vision also work well on platforms like Netflix.

For audio, the stereo speakers gave out above-average volume and sound quality. The treble is clean to boost vocals, while the bass is audible to give depth in dialogues and intense action scenes in movies.
Hardware and Performance
OPPO deepens its partnership with MediaTek by using its best mobile chipset to date, the MediaTek Dimensity 9400, for the OPPO Find X8 Pro. It is clocked at 3.63GHz, has an Immortalis-G925 GPU, generous 16GB of RAM, and 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage. The device is also available in 12GB memory and 256GB/1TB storage configurations.
OPPO Find X8 Pro Benchmark Scores

Day-to-day performance was incredibly reliable and exceeded expectations. Everything from video calls, social media, and web browsing, replying to emails, and even more extensive work like spreadsheets, presentations, and video editing are a breeze on this device.
Now, if you’re doubting a MediaTek chip’s performance in gaming, our tests should have the answers below.

I started with a heavy title, Genshin Impact. It was playable under the highest graphics settings, but I dialed it down a bit to high for smoother frame rates and sustainable performance for extended sessions.
In Call of Duty Mobile, I managed to crank frame rates all the way up to 120fps, but the graphics quality was capped at Medium. The experience was very smooth at maxed out frame rates, but there’s a noticeable increase in thermals. So, to prevent overheating, you might want to lower the frame rates down a little, especially if you’re playing in a poorly ventilated room.

PUBG Mobile and Farlight84 ran smoothly under Ultra. And as expected, Mobile Legends and Asphalt Legends Unite are also playable on their respective maxed-out graphics settings.
The bottom line is that the OPPO Find X8 Pro can clearly game, and rest assured that the heating issues you’re worried about on MediaTek chips are no longer present here.
Game | Graphics Settings |
Call of Duty: Mobile | • Graphics Quality: Medium • Frame Rate: Ultra 120fps |
Farlight84 | • Graphics Quality: Ultra • Frame Rate: High |
PUBG Mobile | • Graphics Quality: Ultra HDR • Frame Rate: Ultra |
Genshin Impact | • Graphics Quality: Highest (Default) |
Mobile Legends: Bang Bang | • Graphics Quality: Ultra • Frame Rate: Ultra • HD Mode: On |
Asphalt Legends Unite | • Visual Quality: High Quality • Frame Rate: 60 |
Software and User Interface
The OPPO Find X8 Pro ships with the brand’s latest ColorOS 15 interface on top of the current Android 15 operating system. The best part about it is that it’s guaranteed to receive 5 OS upgrades and 6 years of security patches. Not the longest support we’ve seen, but it’s up there.

It inherits the looks of its predecessor but with cleaner icons, smoother transitions, and an overall unified feel.

OPPO’s Flux Themes are here, giving you different options that create nice visuals that you can also customize to fit your style. OPPO’s Aqua Dynamics are also available, letting users easily see comprehensive information with ease.
Edge Lighting is a cool feature that takes advantage of the efficient OLED display. It lights up the edges of the screen when you receive notifications, so it’s easier to notice even when you’re far away.

For security, both the in-display fingerprint scanner and face unlock had no issues during our testing. They are fast and accurate and can be used in securing app access, the private safe, and hiding apps completely.

It wouldn’t be a modern smartphone without AI features. The OPPO Find X8 Pro has the brand’s suite of AI features like the AI Studio, an image generator based on your selfies; AI Summary, and AI Speak that can summarize and narrate documents.
In addition, there’s AI Reply, AI Notes with Continue Writing and Format arrangement features, AI Document Translator, and a bunch of photography tools like AI Clarity Enhancer, AI Reflection Remover, AI Unblur, and AI Eraser.

The camera app is still as intuitive as ever. The Google Keyboard is nice and easy to get used to, and you can easily get rid of the letter “Ñ” by changing the layout to US.
As expected from one of the most mature Android skins out there, OPPO nailed the interface on the OPPO Find X8 Pro.
Cameras
Photography remains to be the highlight of the Find X series. That’s why the OPPO Find X8 Pro is equipped with a 50-megapixel 1/1.4-inch LYT-808 sensor with optical image stabilization and f/1.6 aperture.

It is joined by a 50-megapixel periscope lens with 6x zoom and OIS, another 50-megapixel IMX882 with 3x optical zoom with OIS for portraits, and a 50-megapixel Samsung shooter with an ultra-wide lens.
A 32-megapixel selfie camera is on the front. Plus, there’s the Quick Button that you can double press to launch the camera, capture a photo, long-press to continue shooting, and switch between zooms by swiping. Hasselblad technology is also here, so you can use different filters created by the iconic firm.

Now, let’s start with the daylight performance of the main camera. All of the shots I took are almost flawless. Details are captured well with little to no noise, plus colors pop without driving away from reality. In addition, the contrast and dynamic range are well-depicted.
The shutter speed is blazing-fast so no blurry photos, even in fast-paced scenarios.

Image quality held up at night. The OPPO Find X8 Pro captured low-light shots extremely well, with sharp details, ample exposure, respectable shutter speed, and well-rendered colors.

The 50-megapixel 3x telephoto sensor takes incredible portraits with a 73mm focal length at f/4.5. Paired with the numerous Portrait Modes from Hasselblad, images look like they came out of a professional camera.
Background blur is clean and believable, with the same impressive rendering as the main camera, and incredibly sharp details that you can marvel when you try to zoom in.

Finally, there’s the other 50-megapixel sensor that has a 6x periscope lens. It has an equivalent of 135mm, which is great for far-away shots. Thanks to the sharp sensor, image quality is really great, with the same color reproduction as the rest of the lenses.
You can also max out the zoom for a whopping 2,700mm focal length equivalent. The pixel-dense sensor ensures that shots are still respectably detailed under such extreme digital zoom. Of course, there’s AI magic in there, but it’s still impressive.

OPPO went all the way and also nailed the ultra-wide camera. Details and colors are still impressive and the barrel distortion has been handled well.

Selfies from the 32-megapixel camera are good but could be better. They look detailed enough but could be sharper. Perhaps it’s because of the built-in beautification even when it’s turned off in the settings. On the upside, dynamic range, exposure, and skin tones are good.

Thanks to the different lenses, flexibility is one of the strongest suites of the OPPO Find X8 Pro. Overall, there’s no doubt that the OPPO Find X8 is one of the best camera phones in the Android space right now.
Battery and Charging
The OPPO Find X8 Pro, like most phones out today, uses silicon-carbon technology. So, it has a large 5,910mAh density while retaining a relatively thin and lightweight design.

It generated some of the best scores we’ve had in months on our tests. In PCMark’s battery loop test, it lasted for 19 hours and 31 minutes — one of the highest scores we got in any smartphone category.
In our 1080p YouTube Video Loop test, it lasted for 14 hours and 37 minutes before dropping to 0%. Hardcore users (like me) can easily get a whole day of use out this device. Casual users can probably make it last for at least 2 days or more, depending on their usage.

But if you manage to run out of juice before the day ends, don’t worry, as the 50W wireless and 80W SUPERVOOC charger can fill it back up in under an hour. See our wired charging test results below:
- 15mins: 0-33%
- 30mins: 60%
- 45mins: 87%
- 57mins: FULL
Verdict
Based on everything I tested for this review, the OPPO Find X8 Pro is without a doubt one of the best smartphones in the world right now. Unfortunately, it’s limited in terms of availability as it’s only sold in select regions.

The device has the right combination of things that make for a killer flagship smartphone: a solid all-round performance, killer cameras, a gorgeous display, reliable battery life with fast charging, and extras that improve the overall experience. I particularly like the dedicated camera button for a better photography experience and the useful alert slider.
I really had a hard time finding flaws on this device, which made its one drawback a huge bummer: availability. Sadly, while the Find X8 is, the OPPO Find X8 Pro is not available in the Philippines.

With that, let’s just hope that OPPO will bring their next flagship to the country.
OPPO Find X8 Pro pricing and availability
