OPPO has released the global versions of their latest midrange devices, the Reno 8 and Reno 8 Pro.
First, let’s talk about the more interesting one, the OPPO Reno 8 Pro. This one is essentially the Reno 8 Pro Plus that came out in China back in May.

That said, this one is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8100 Max octa-core processor. It is paired with OPPO’s own MariSilicon X chip that offers 18TOPS of power, which should handle image processing with finesse.
Speaking of images, you’d be taking pictures with its 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 main camera. It has a couple of bells and whistles like a 7P lens, omni-directional PDAF, 12-bit image output, and dual native ISO. Sadly, it didn’t get to have an optical image stabilizer (OIS).

The main camera is joined by the usual 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens and 2-megapixel macro. On the front, there’s a punch-hole for the 32-megapixel IMX709 sensor.
Another fancy feature is the large and vibrant 6.7-inch AMOLED screen, with an apt FHD+ pixel resolution, a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, and HDR10+ support. It is also certified to stream Netflix and Amazon in high definition.

Keeping the lights on is a decent 4,500mAh battery. Not the biggest, but it managed to keep the device light. It is paired with an 80W fast charger that should provide a full charge in about half an hour.
It then ships with the latest Android 12 operating system with OPPO’s ColorOS 12.1 user interface on top.

The OPPO Reno 8 Pro 12GB/256GB variant is currently available in India for a price of INR45,999 (around Php32,400).
