In case you’re living under a rock for a month now or you’re just very busy to keep up with the latest tech news, two local smartphone giants clashed last week with their own release of high-end superphones.
The MyPhone Agua Iceberg is actually the first ever pinoy smartphone to come with a premium aluminum body and it was launched last July 26 in Eastwood. It also packs impressive specifications which will surely give you a satisfying android experience. MyPhone also decided to remove the Philippine map on their smartphones (starting with Iceberg) to make it look more appealing to others. The Iceberg is now available for Php11,998.

Meanwhile, the Cherry Mobile Cosmos Z was the first one to launch last July 24 and it on that day it became the first ever locally branded android smartphone to sport a Full HD (1920×1080 pixel resolution) display which is currently the norm for flagship android phones from well-known international players such as Samsung, HTC, LG, and Sony. The Cosmos Z will be available this August for Php11,999.

These two smartphones doesn’t directly compete with each other, as the first one is 5-inches while the Iceberg has 5.7-inches. But since they’re currently the best among the two brands, we figured they are the ones competing against each other, too.
Now, take your pick. Is it the MyPhone Agua Iceberg or the Cherry Mobile Cosmos Z?
I will go for Pintech Echo.
Specs:
1.7GHz quad-core snapdragon 600
4.8in FHD Super AMOLED display
The rest google this. THe price is just 15k php
kahit kailan = bias?
you’re wasting money for MADE IN CHINA IS CHERRY MOBILE
MYPHONE is the best because made in SONY and cherry mobile is made in china hahahahhahahahhaahhahahahahahhahahaah
and very cheap price
Features nga maganda… pero after sales panis naman… taz magugulat ka nalang pag nalag-lag phone mo sira na…made in china kasi taz chinese din ang may-ari so name lang ang pagiging local brand ang totoo china phone… di gaya ng myphone made by sony…pag features lang habol mo go for CM.. but if you want quality quantity and after sales go for MyPhone…
I am so specific when it comes to mobile camera’s. CM Z has 18MP BSI back camera and 8MP front camera. While MyPhone Iceberg has 12MP BSI back camera and 5MP front camera. But I am also thinking that the TARA feature on MyPhone Iceberg is really great that CM Z does not have. So now I’m really confused.
pag features lang habol mo go for CM.. but if you want quality quantity and after sales go for MyPhone…
MY PHONE AGUA ICEBERG @ND BRAnDED LANG PO YAN TIGNAN NYO PO YUNG FULL SPECS NG BLU LIFE VIEW SA GSMARENA O SA PHONEARENA
tama
tama
basing the quality of a company’s smartphones on the comments and complaints of the unknown facebook users? aba, parang PGT lang ah . . .
hindi naman sa hate kita., per0 maling mali ang inf0 na pinop0st m0.., what u mean by 2nd rebranded., may term ba na nageexist like that f0r smartph0ne..? or u mean ung blu life ay nagrebrand ng blu life view then nirebrand ng myph0ne as iceberg? mali un., FYI ang BLU,Micromax,Myph0ne,etc.. ay iisa ang manifacturer., which is Tinno Mobile yan ang RTM nila n0t OEM.., sa case ng cherry mobile., wla k0 masyad0 alam., since kung anu anung ph0ne ang nirerebrand nila., mer0n cla fr0m karbon mobile i mobile and even HUAWEI..
kaparehas ng diamind v7? sure ka? eh mas maganda nga yang iceberg kasya sa cosmos at diamond, may clever motion , TARA etc.
OEM (original equipment manufacturer)
This confusing term has two meanings:
1) Originally, an OEM (original equipment manufacturer)REG was a company that supplied equipment
to other companies to resell or incorporate into another product using the reseller’s brand name.
For example, a maker of refrigerators like Frigidaire might sell its refrigerators to a retailer
like Sears to resell under a brand name owned by Sears. A number of companies, both equipment
suppliers and equipment resellers, still use this meaning.
2) More recently, OEM is used to refer to the company that acquires a product or component and
reuses or incorporates it into a new product with its own brand name.
hahahaahhahaha SHUNGA nyu naman GO ICEBERG PAREN AKO
kesa sa cherry mobile na china made…not quality based and not quantity based and ang after sales nila ang walang kwenta.. kung ayaw mo rin ma biktima gaya ko bahala ka sa buhay mo…
i’ll go for the iceberg, at the very least, you’ve got reliable aftersales service in case your 10k+ investment decides to “meet its maker” way before the warranty ends.
metal vs plastic. kudos to MP for starting the casing war – metal vs metal.
I thought 5″ is big already now comes 5.7, this is for those who are thinking of buying a tablet not a smartphone. And at 220 gms that’s heavy for a one hand use. Weight and portability becomes an issue with phones getting bigger while trousers are getting skinnier Holster for phones coming up???. It’s getting really ridiculous.
they’re called phablets, just so you’d know..and yes, i wish they would release smartPHONES for a change, with the same specs as their phablets (except screen size, of course). we already have a lot of phablet choices already..
Don’t you like it? I mean like what u said it has 220 gms and heavy for AN one hand use.. and it has 5.7″ which is massive size for a smartphone but it still not big enough to be a tablet.. so they call it phablet.. don’t u like it? U’ve got an heavy device on ur hand so it helps ur hand to excercise a lil’ bit cos’ u’re too lazy to go to the gym and a smartphone that has 5.7″ screen almost similar to a tablet so yeah u’ve got a 3 in 1 package in just 1 device.. isn’t it fantastic?
5″ Full HD display on a measly 2000mAh. Pass.
That’s true! Full hd on a 2000mah battery??? Is CM SERIOUS??? You’ll get disappointed with the battery life!
Also, can the mediatek processor handle the FUll HD screen without lags? :)
Absolutely. Yung mga AnTutu benchmarks ng mga generic 1080p China phones bearing the same SoC ay umaabot ng 15-16k points…that’s around a Galaxy S3 level!
Yes, the MTK processor can handle a FHD screen.
Do not underestimate the Mediatek Processors
But how about the battery? Full hd with a 2000mah battery? Come on! How many playtime hours then can it stand???? Dumb CM!
