As you can see, both devices pretty much share some similarities but they do differ in some major areas. An example would be the display size and its glass protection.

The Realme 5 Pro has a 6.3-inch display while the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro has a 6.53-inch screen. Protection wise, the former only has a Corning Gorilla Glass 3+ protection compared to the Corning Gorilla Glass 5 of the latter.

Processor wise, I feel like they’re a close match. It’s no secret that MediaTek processors are considered as inferior to its Snapdragon counterpart. But we think it’s not that easy of a call, in this case. Both processors can handle games smoothly and well. I believe this is a standstill.

On the camera front, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro takes the cake in this one. Even though both phones has a quad-camera set up, the Redmi Note 8 Pro’s 64-megapixel primary shooter overpowers the Realme 5 Pro’s 48-megapixel main shooter.

It’s the same story in the front camera where the Redmi Note 8 Pro uses a 20-megapixel sensor compared to Realme 5 Pro’s 16-megapixel shooter.

With all things said, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro is a really solid device for its price. Thanks to its bigger display size, better cameras and huge battery size, it takes the cake over the Realme 5 Pro.

Realme are getting really better at creating bang-for-the-buck smartphones. With that, the Realme Pro 5 still offers a great value for the price. It just got outmatched by the Redmi Note 8.
