The second phone in this battle is the OPPO A9 2020. This one sports a 48-megapixel quad-camera along with a huge battery with the size of 5,000mAh.
The huge battery capacity will come in clutch if you’re a heavy mobile phone user. The A9 2020’s camera also has an Ultra Night Mode 2.0 feature that’ll allow you to take great night pictures.

As you can see from the information above – both phones are different from one another. We would have to say the main, obvious difference would be their cameras. The Realme XT has a flagship camera in its arsenal. It has a 64-megapixel main camera, 8-megapixel (ultrawide), 2-megapixel (macro) and 2-megapixel (depth sensor). It’s actually one of the first to make use of that 64-megapixel sensor.
That’s compared to the OPPO A9 2020’s 48-megapixel main shooter, 8-megapixel (ultrawide), 2-megapixel (macro) and 2-megapixel (depth sensor). On the selfie camera aspect, both phones are packing a 16-megapixel (f/2.0) front shooter.
Another difference is the phone display. The Realme XT has a Super AMOLED display along with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It shall offer better colors and protection versus the OPPO A9’s LCD display. Unfortunately, the A9 2020 has no Corning Gorilla Glass protection – so there’s that.
Processor and GPU wise, the Realme XT has the better offerings in the Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 and the Adreno 616 vs the Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 and Adreno 610 of the OPPO A9.
The OPPO A9 has stereo speakers powered by Dolby Atmos sound, something the Realme XT lacks. It also comes with active noise cancellation and a dedicated mic. This feature is perfect for mobile gamers who like to communicate with their team members in-game or those who like to watch videos on their phone.
Battery wise, the OPPO A9 2020 has the bigger battery size in 5,000mAh compared to the Realme XT’s 4,000mAH. Again, if you’re a heavy mobile phone user the OPPO A9 might be the best option for you.
Both the Realme XT and OPPO A9 have their own set of strengths. But due to the better camera, processor, display, and other extras like a UD fingerprint scanner – well have to give the win on the Realme XT on this one. We have a hands-on review of this device that you can check out.
Don’t get it twisted though as the OPPO A9 is also a good option especially with its bigger battery size and stereo speakers. Oh, did I forget to mention that it’s cheaper than the Realme XT as well?
Overall, you can’t go wrong with these two phones. If you’re into photography, I would suggest going with the Realme XT. But if you want a device that can keep up with you for an entire busy day, the OPPO A9 might be the best option for you. You can learn more about it in our OPPO A9 2020 hands-on review.
The Realme XT can now be bought for the price of Php16,990 while the OPPO A9 2020 can be purchased for the price of Php15,990.
