It looks like Samsung is not yet done in strengthening their midrange line-up. Just a few days ago, the Galaxy J7 Pro went official in the Philippines. While it is still fresh from the oven, they announced new Samsung Galaxy J5 Pro in Thailand.
As the denomination on the branding would suggest, the Samsung Galaxy J5 Pro is the smaller brother of the Galaxy J7 Pro. The two shares the same design language that Samsung is starting to implement on their non-flagship devices. It has an all-metal unibody build and a distinctive antenna band that thankfully doesn’t look like the iPhone’s.
But unlike the Galaxy J7 Pro, Samsung soft-pedalled some of the components included on this one. The Galaxy J5 Pro uses a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED screen with a lower resolution of 1280 x 720. And due to its smaller frame, it was only able to accommodate a 3,000mAh battery — which is still relatively substantial than the competition.
But other than those minor compromise, the phone was able to inherit the specs that the J7 Pro has. The two runs on the same 1.6GHz Exynos octa-core processor, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of internal storage. They also share the same 13-megapixel cameras in both front and back.
