The tablet PC space had slowly lost its shine in the past few weeks. However, some companies still have a strong faith in them. Hence, we have the new Torque EGO Phab 3G+.
Just a few weeks ago, Apple announced the new 10.5-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro. The tech giant’s move instantly brought back the tablet PCs back in the limelight again. The iPad Pro is probably the pinnacle of tablet computing with a steep price tag to match. That’s why cheap alternatives like the Torque EGO Phab 3G+ exists.
This newcomer has nothing but the most basic of specifications. The EGO Phab 3G+ has a 7-inch display with a 1280 x 800 resolution. A screen size that’s a bit too small for a tablet, but too ginormous to be a smartphone.
There’s also a 1.3GHz quad-core processor with 1GB of RAM — which is hopefully sufficient enough to handle basic apps and casual games. There’s also a modest Mali-400 graphics that might be capable enough to run its low-res display.
Disappointingly, there’s only a 2500mAh battery that’s powering everything up. It may or may not be ample enough to last you for a day. For a quick reference, a normal 5.5-inch smartphone with an octa-core processor would have a 3000mAh battery. Let’s just hope its low-power processor and display would make it last for a little while.
