The vivo V40 family continues to grow with the release of a new budget alternative, the vivo V40e.
Sharing the same design language as the vivo V40 and V40 Pro, the vivo V40e also has curves on the front and back and a clean pebble-like camera island on the back.
Being from the V-series, cameras are a big deal here. It has a sharp 50-megapixel Sony sensor on the back, paired with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide. Another 50-megapixel shooter is on the front with Eye Autofocus and an ultra-wide lens for group selfies.
vivo’s signature Aura Light flash is also here, which provides a smooth and subtle illumination to the subject. Plus, the color temperature can be adjusted to match the subject’s skin tone.
That selfie camera sits on top of the feature-packed display. It is a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen with a sharp 2392 x 1080 resolution, smooth 120Hz refresh rate, 8,000,000:1 contrast ratio, P3 color, HDR10+ support, and received an SGS low blue light certification.
It also boasts a large 5,5000mAh battery with a speedy 80W charging. Despite its large battery, vivo managed to keep it incredibly thin at only 7.5mm and weighs just 183g.
Powering the device is a 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor, with 8GB of RAM, and up to 256GB of non-expandable storage.
vivo also claims that it survived >100 drops from a height of 1 meter, 32,000 drops simulating desks, beds, sofas, etc., 150,000 power button tests, 10,000 plugs/unplugs, 1,000 sitting pressure tests, 500 torsion tests, 72 hours of coastal high-humidity and heat environment test, and -20℃ to 50℃ temperature test. Still, it lacks an official IP rating for dust and water resistance.
The vivo V40e 5G is now listed on vivo India’s website for a price of INR30,999 (~Php20,700) for the 8GB/256GB model and INR28,999 (~Php19,400) for the 8GB/128GB variant.
