vivo v9 vs vivo v7+ specs comparison - noypigeeks

Vivo just launched their new flagship smartphone, the Vivo V9 — approximately 7 months after its predecessor came out.

As of the moment, both devices are awkwardly placed at the same pricing stage. The Vivo V9 (read our review) and the Vivo V7+ has a price tag of Php17,990. But since the V9 is not due to hit the shelves until next month, there’s a huge chance that Vivo will be slashing a few thousand off the price of the V7+.

But the question is, how does the Vivo V9 compare against the Vivo V7 Plus? Is it worth the upgrade? That’s what we’re going to answer in this specs comparison.

It looks like the Vivo V9 is what the V7+ should have been from the very beginning. Unlike its predecessor, the V9 offers a more compelling value for the price.

Let us begin on the display. The V9 has a more attractive screen with the iPhone X-like display notch. However, this kind of style wasn’t a hit on Android manufacturers during the time that the V7+ was announced, as it was still the 18:9 aspect ratio trend back then.

For the price, the Vivo V7+ should have had least had a Full HD screen, just like what the V9 has now. Unfortunately, the company settled with 720p for it.

Both devices come with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, but the V9 was able to take a greater lead with its newer and faster Snapdragon 626 processor. It also runs on a newer OS version, although there are rumors that the V7+ will get updated to Android Oreo soon.

The two also has the same set of cameras, although the Vivo V9 gets to have an extra 5-megapixel camera at the back. It is also noticeably lighter and has a marginally larger 3260mAh battery.

So, if you’re thinking of getting the V7+, you might want to hold it off first and wait for the Vivo V9 to hit the stores. But if you already own a V7 Plus, there’s no real big reason to upgrade as of the moment.
