Xiaomi has introduced its latest flagship phones. The latest Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro boasts high-end features and are one of the firsts to use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset.
The Xiaomi 12 feels like a more appropriate alternative to the Pro model. This one has a 6.28-inch AMOLED screen, perfect if you want a smaller and more compact device.
But despite its smaller size, it’s still a proper flagship device. It has a fast 120Hz refresh rate, UD fingerprint scanner, and durable Gorilla Glass Victus protection. Keeping the lights on is a large-for-its-size 4,500mAh battery with 67W wired charging. It also boasts ultra-fast 50W wireless charging and 10W reverse wireless charging for your accessories.
There’s a large 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 sensor on the back, equipped with optical image stabilization. The main shooter is joined by a 13-megapixel ultra-wide and 5-megapixel telephoto/macro lens.
The Xiaomi 12 starts at CNY3,699 (around Php29,600) for the 8GB/128GB model, CNY3,999 (around Php32,000) for the 8GB/256GB, and CNY4,399 (around Php35,200) for the 12GB/256GB variant. Sales starts in China on December 31.

Meanwhile, the Xiaomi 12 Pro offers a substantial amount of advantages over the vanilla variant. For starters, it has a larger 6.73-inch display with a sharper 1440p resolution and uses an LTPO 2.0 panel. It also has variable a refresh rate that goes from 1Hz to 120Hz for better battery optimization.
Another big lead over the non-Pro model is the cameras. This thing boasts three 50-megapixel shooters. But unlike the vanilla model, the main shooter uses a newer IMX707 sensor. The second and third 50-megapixel cameras come with portrait and ultra-wide lenses.
The Pro model also has Xiaomi’s latest CyberFocus technology, which can apparently lock in on human faces and other elements in the background. Xiaomi also made improvements in the Night Mode feature for brighter low-light images with lower noise levels.
Despite its larger size, the battery is only slightly bigger at 4,600mAh. However, it does enjoy a much faster 120W wired charging. 50W wireless charging support is also onboard. Xiaomi’s own Surge P1 charging was included for power management.
The Xiaomi 12 Pro has a starting price of CNY4,699 (around Php37,600) for the 8GB/128GB, CNY4,999 (around Php40,000) for the 8GB/256GB, while the top-tier 12GB/256GB variant is at CNY5,299 (around Php42,400). It will also be available in China on December 31. Release details of the international variant, especially here in the Philippines, are yet to be announced.
