Both the Xiaomi Redmi 7A and Realme C2 have some similarities. Still, they both have their own strengths and weaknesses, so choosing between them may depend on your preference.
For the price, you might want to get the best performance possible. If you’re one of those people, then you might want to get the Redmi 7A.
Its Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 octa-core processor and Adreno 505 GPU delivers better scores in most benchmark tests than the MediaTek Helio P22 and IMG PowerVR GPU on the latter.
Also, the MIUI interface on Xiaomi devices has a cleaner and more straightforward look. Which also provides a snappier performance than the ColorOS on the Realme C2.
But if you’re all about multimedia consumption and you care about how your device looks, then you might be better off with the Realme C2.
This one comes with a 6.1-inch HD+ IPS display, which offers more screen real-estate than the 5.45-inch screen that the Redmi 7A have. The latter also has better screen-to-body ratio thanks to its waterdrop notch, while the former keeps the traditional thick bezels on the top to house the front camera and necessary sensors.
There’s also the unique diamond pattern design on the back. Creating a really edgy look for the device. On the other hand, the Redmi 7A settles for a slightly boring back panel design, albeit is splash resistant.

Also, the Realme C2 gets the one-up by having an extra 2-megapixel depth sensor. Meanwhile, the Redmi 7A only has a single 12-megapixel camera.
However, they do both have the same 5-megapixel selfie camera. They also share a generous 4,000mAh battery. On the downside, they don’t come with a fingerprint scanner. So you’d be relying on face unlock as a biometric security feature.
At the end of the day, I still think that most people will prefer performance above anything else, especially at this price category. And if you’re one of them, then you might be better off with the Xiaomi Redmi 7A. This one has a more affordable starting price of Php4,790 for the 2GB/16GB model. You can bump up the storage to 32GB by paying an extra Php500.
But, if you care much about how your smartphone looks, then you might be better off with the Realme C2. As a bonus, you can get the top model for Php6,490 for an extra 1GB of RAM to boost its productivity prowess.
