Xiaomi recently announced the Redmi Smart TV Max with a massive 98-inch screen. It’s so enormous that the brand even included the dimensions of the doors where it can fit. In case you’re wondering how big a 98-inch screen is, it is 13.6% larger than a single bed of 1.2meters and the same size of a ping-pong table.
The Redmi Smart TV Max is not only about its size. When it comes to image quality, it also doesn’t disappoint. Its LCD panel has 4K resolution that covers 85% NTSCP color gamut, a 60Hz refresh rate, and supports HDR 192 (with LED backlighting). Besides those mentioned, the Redmi Smart TV Max also comes with an image engine that provides 20 image quality tuning technologies. With this, videos look clearer and smoother.

As for the audio quality, the TV has four speakers with Dolby and DTS decoding. You also won’t have issues linking external audio devices as it has three HDMI ports, one of which has an ARC, and an S/PDIF output.
Internals-wise, the Redmi Smart TV Max comes powered by an Amlogic T972 chipset (4x Cortex-A55, Mali-G31MP2), a 4GB of RAM and a 64GB storage. It also uses Xiaomi’s custom Android TV launcher, PatchWall. Because of this, you may easily connect gadgets that are part of the Xiaomi ecosystem on the TV. What’s even great is that it has a voice control option.
The TV seems all nice but much does it cost? Well, the Redmi Smart TV Max will be available in China for a price of CNY19,999 (~Php145,000). It’s still relatively cheaper than most 98-inch TVs in the market. However, we don’t know yet if Xiaomi will release this internationally, or whether it’ll reach Philippines shores. If ever it does, we’ll surely let you know so stay tuned.
