People know Xiaomi because of its value-for-money smartphones. But aside from mobile devices, the company has also expanded to appliances to widen its product portfolio.
The Xiaomi TV Stick 4K is a new product, but the brand didn’t release an official announcement about it just yet. Instead, its product page on Xiaomi’s website has quietly gone live without any fanfare.
Like its predecessor, the new Xiaomi TV Stick 4K packs a good set of features for a relatively low price tag. And aside from typical features of a TV stick, 4K streaming support and AV1 hardware decoding have been added as well.
The Xiaomi TV Stick 4K is equipped with a Cortex-A35 quad-core chipset, Mali-G31 MP2 GPU, 2GB RAM, and 8GB built-in storage. There’s support for Dolby Atmos, DTS HD, VP9, and H.265 codecs. In terms of connectivity, it has Bluetooth 5.0, 5GHz WiFi, HDMI, and microUSB port. Software-wise, it runs on Android TV 11 instead of the latest Google TV.
No word yet on the official pricing of the Xiaomi TV Stick 4K, but it’s expected to be in the same range as the Mi TV Stick.
