Apple has really revolutionized the latest iPad models. Thanks to the new silicon chips (M1, M2, etc.) and a more flexible iPadOS, the latest tablets are now more powerful than ever.
Since the introduction of the silicon chip, we’ve seen a lot of MacBook users actually switching to iPad since they are now (almost) equally powerful. However, there are some creatives like us who still can’t switch since some professional tools we’re using are not yet available for iPads — well, not until now.
Apple just announced that the Final Cut Pro — its advanced video editor — and Logic Pro — one of the most popular audio mixing and workstation app in the world — are coming to the iPad.
Being Apple, they aren’t simple tablet ports for the iPad. To work better with touchscreens, the Final Cut Pro for iPad will come with a new jog wheel for easier editing and unlocks new ways to interact with your content.
You can use your Apple Pencil to hover on the screen and skim and preview footage, or draw directly on your videos using a feature called Live Drawing.
With the 12.9-inch iPad Pro, users can view and edit HDR video, as well as apply color grades with accuracy. Also included are Scene removal that lets you easily replace the background, Auto Crop, Voice Isolation, and a library of effects, audio, and graphics.
Meanwhile, the Logic Pro will have multi-touch gestures for playing software instruments, pinch-to-zoom and swipe-to-scroll to navigate projects, record voice or instruments using the iPad’s built-microphones, and do precise edits using an Apple Pencil.

There’s also a sound browser that has all available audio and instrument patches, plug-in presets, samples, and loops. Users can also play with over 100 instruments and effects plug-ins.
The Final Cut Pro for iPad will be available on models with M1 and M2 chipsets, the Logic Pro is for iPads with A12 Bionic and later. Both will be come starting May 13 on the App Store for USD4.99 (~Php300) per month or USD49 (~Php2,800) annually with a 1-month free trial.
