DxOMark just published its in-depth camera review of the new Huawei P60 Pro, and it got the highest score of any smartphone the publication has ever reviewed.
With an overall camera score of 156, the Huawei P60 Pro stole the top spot from the OPPO Find X6 Pro, which got 153. For a quick recap, Huawei’s latest flagship boasts a 48-megapixel RYYB sensor with a variable aperture that can go from an ultra-bright f/1.4 that’s great for portraits, to f/4.0 for group shots. OIS is also included.
There’s also a 48-megapixel telescope lens that can do 3.5x optical zoom and 100x digital zoom — also with OIS. The third one is a traditional 13-megapixel ultra-wide lens, while on the front, there’s a 13-megapixel selfie shooter that also has ultra-wide glass.
As per DxOMark, the P60 Pro has a “great overall camera performance” that’s good for taking photos and videos in any lighting conditions. The device also takes “outstanding friends-and-family” photos thanks to its accurate skin tones. Also, the variable aperture ensures that everyone in the group shot is in focus.
The publication also highlighted the device’s zoom capability managed to keep details intact, as well as the performance of its macro mode.
However, the device is not perfect. For its cons, DxOMark noted that there are differences between the image preview and the final image in terms of depth estimation. There were also occasional unnatural detail rendering in challenging shooting conditions. Plus, there were noticeable focusing transitions when shooting videos.
Still, numbers show that the Huawei P60 Pro is the best camera phone you can get in the market today.
Other than the cameras, the P60 Pro also has a 6.67-inch LTPO OLED screen at 120Hz, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 4G processor, a 4,815mAh battery, and 88W wired and 50W wireless charging support. It’s available in the Philippines in 8GB/256GB and 12GB/512GB configurations for a price of Php59,999 and Php69,999, respectively.
