The pricing details of Microsoft’s latest operating system is finally out and interested people can now place their pre-order. The launch of the said OS is supposed to be on October 26 but Microsoft made the move to let people do the pre-order if ever they need or want the DVD disc. Of course, the option of downloading the full Windows 8 Pro OS online will still be available by purchasing it through Windows 8 Upgrade Assistant.

If you’re running Windows XP, Vista or 7, an online upgrade to Windows 8 will be available at a cheaper price of $40. However, this will be a limited offer and will last only until January 31, 2013. On the other hand, if you feel like having the DVD version of Windows 8 Pro, it will cost $70.

For newly bought Windows 7 PC and laptops that spans from June 2, 2012 and January 31, 2013, Microsoft will offer a $15 upgrade to Windows 8. You can check this link to know more about it and its pricing details in the Philippines.

For a full license on Windows 8, an online store called Newegg states that the prices are the following.

  • Windows 8 Pro Pack – Product Key Card (no media) – $70
  • Windows 8 (Full Version) – OEM $100
  • Windows 8 Pro (Full Version) – OEM $140

There are still no information on the pre-order or price of Microsoft’s Surface tablets but we’re hoping to hear from them soon as the holiday season comes closer.
