Spotify has announced a new “Basic” streaming plan in the United States, which will be available for $10.99/month. This plan offers all the features of the Premium plan except for the monthly audiobook listening time.

This announcement comes shortly after Spotify raised the price of its Premium plan from $10.99 to $11.99. According to Bloomberg, the increased prices are intended to help cover the cost of providing audiobooks.

With the Spotify Basic plan, users can still pay $10.99/month but will only have access to music and podcasts. This plan may appeal to those who do not utilize the 15 hours of monthly audiobook listening included in the Premium plan.

Spotify is also reportedly working on introducing more subscription tiers. One such tier, dubbed “Supremium,” is expected to offer high-fidelity audio and will likely be priced at least $5 higher than the current Premium plan.

In the Philippines, Spotify Premium individual plan is currently priced at Php149/month.
