Disregarding its sound quality, the Apple AirPods is one of the best and most intuitive pairs of headphones in the market today. However, it doesn’t work quite well on Android devices. Hopefully, the Xiaomi Mi AirDots Pro solves that problem.
Right off the bat, the design of the Xiaomi Mi AirDots Pro really suggests that it was really inspired from the AirPods.
It has that standard earbuds look that looks like the cord was just cut out from it. But unlike Apple’s offering, the AirDots has an in-ear design, so expect better sound isolation and audible bass from this thing.
Speaking of which, the AirDots Pro uses a 7mm neodymium iron boron drivers. It also brags ANC active noise cancellation technology.
Each earbud weighs 5.8g and has IPX4 water-resistant protection. The most interesting part is, the left and right channels can work in unilateral mode. Keep the left channel on your ear, and lend the right one to a friend.
Much like the AirPods, it also has voice assistant, which you can trigger, as well as control music and calls, by tapping its touch-sensitive surface. The AirDots work on Android, iOS, and other mobile devices.
As for the battery, the AirDots Pro has an impressive 10-hour music playback and charges via USB Type-C for only 1 hour.
Probably the most interesting part about the Xiaomi Mi AirDots Pro is its price. This thing retails for only CNY399, which is only ~Php3,100 when directly converted to Philippine pesos.
That’s substantially cheaper than the Apple AirPods, which currently retails for Php8,990. The AirDot Pro’s official release here in the Philippines is yet to be announced. Hopefully, it gets here very soon, together with the Mi Power Bank 3 Pro Edition.
