Globe Telecom, one of the key entities that are bringing Gogoro to the Philippines, announced that the first batch of Smartscooters, batteries, and charging stations have already arrived in the Philippines.
Last year, Globe Telecom’s 917Ventures and Ayala Corp. announced that they will be bringing Taiwan’s Gogoro electric scooter to the Philippines.

Now, the first batch has arrived, which includes 100 Gogoro Smartscooters, 400 smart batteries, and 7 GoStations.
How it works is quite simple. Once their battery runs out of juice, Smartscooter riders can go to GoStations and swap their depleted battery for a fully-charged one.

According to Vince Yamat, 917Ventures Managing Director, the project will help address “the need for a more sustainable transportation” and also “contribute to the overall goal of creating a greener future” for the country.
Globe said that the pilot testing of the scooters will happen in Metro Manila this first quarter by the logistics and last-mile delivery industry.
