Shell’s first-ever electric vehicle charging station has been launched at Shell SLEX Mamplasan Northbound, marking its first foray into servicing cars that depend solely or partly on electricity instead of fossil fuel.
Not the first of its kind in the country considering similar, but older models, already in place in locations such as UniOil and SM Malls, but Shell’s stands out for its 180-kilowatt DC charger—the fastest one in the country, to date.
Priced at Php65 per minute, a typical 30-minute full charge will cost a consumer Php1,950 on Shell Recharge. But adding to the experience, EV owners can choose to earn points by using their Shell Go+ Cards.
Highlighting the Star Charge Titan 180 300A’s charging capability, up to two EVs can charge at one station at the same time via the CCS2 connectors.
Discarding fossil fuel in the overall picture, Shell Philippines’ charging stations draw energy from clean sources as well. In particular, from the energy generated by solar panels installed atop the Shell Recharge station’s roof.
