Another renowned tech brand is shutting down — Yahoo Answers.

The announcement came after LG said they would be dropping its mobile division. Now, Yahoo announced that it would be shutting down Yahoo Answers.

For those who are unfamiliar, Yahoo Answers is a question-and-answer website driven by a community of users. The website went live on June 28, 2005.

Yahoo said that starting April 20, 2021, users will not be able to post new questions and answers anymore. And by May 24, the entire website will be closed and inaccessible. Those who will attempt to visit the website will be redirected to Yahoo’s main homepage.

If you want to archive your questions or answers, you can download your Yahoo Answers data here. You can request your data until June 30, 2021.

As for a reason for its closure, Yahoo Answers, despite being one of Yahoo’s key products, apparently became less popular over the past few years.

If you remember, Yahoo Answers used to be a hub for silly questions that can be asked anonymously — something that users can now do on more modern alternatives like Twitter or Quora.
