Taking a quick glance at its specs sheet, the Honor 10 Lite has a lot of similarities to the Nova 3i — the current midrange superstar of Honor’s mother company.

Much like the former, the Huawei Nova 3i is a great daily driver device. In our full review, we liked its stylish design, good cameras, capable processor, and impressive battery life.

Honor-10-Lite-5274

These two devices are pretty much the same smartphone from the inside. The Huawei Nova 3i does have better numbers in some areas, but the Honor 10 Lite’s competitive pricing makes it a great deal that’s hard to pass on.

One of the Nova 3i’s headlining features is its quad-camera setup. It comes with a 24-megapixel selfie camera and a 16-megapixel primary shooter on the back. Both sensors are partnered with a 2-megapixel depth sensor.

The Honor 10 Lite does have the same 24-megapixel selfie shooter but lacks the extra 2-megapixel sensor. It does have the same depth sensor on the back, but the main shooter is only at 13-megapixels. Also, the former lacks the 3D Qmoji which the latter has.

But other than that, they are pretty much identical. They have an identical 6.3-inch FHD+ screen, a capable Kirin 710 processor, and a Mali-G51 graphics with GPU Turbo technology.

The Huawei Nova 3i ships with a slightly outdated Android 8.1 Oreo OS, but we can surely expect it to be updated to Android 9.0 Pie, similar to the OS of the Honor 10 Lite.

Design-wise, both are equally good-looking. However, the Honor 10 Lite’s paint jobs feel surprisingly refreshing. Plus, it feels much thinner and nicer in the hands. It has a resemblance to the more premium Nova 3, which we were able to check out in our hands-on review.

If having a great camera is really a top priority, then going with the Nova 3i is a much suitable option. But if overall value for money is what you’re looking for, then you might want to get the Honor 10 Lite.

Since they have similar screens, processors, and battery capacities, getting the Honor 10 Lite over the Nova 3i is a no-brainer. As a bonus, you’d be saving a couple thousand bucks by doing so.

Speaking of which, the Honor 10 Lite’s price starts at CNY1,399 (~Php10,600) for the 4GB/64GB model, while the most expensive model with 6GB/128GB configuration will retail for CNY1,899 (~Php14,300).

There’s also going to be a 3GB/64GB, the model that’s expected to arrive in the Philippines on January 22, but its official pricing details are yet to be announced.

With that, the Honor 10 Lite is clearly better in some ways than the Huawei Nova 3i. The Nova 3i has an official retail price of Php15,990, but will eventually have a price drop to Php14,990 on January 19.
