ASUS hasn’t made buzz in the past year. Their Zenfone 4 line showed really great potential, but none of them made a huge noise during its reign. But now, the company is trying to change that with the ASUS Zenfone 5 2018 line.
Here we have the standard ASUS Zenfone 5 2018. And as ASUS attempts to make it the next big thing in the upper midrange segment, it will have to go head-to-head first with some of the current competitors in the country.
One of them is Huawei, and judging by the rumored price of their upcoming product, it looks like the ASUS Zenfone 5 2018 will have to go against the Huawei P20 Lite as it tries to flourish in this already saturated market.
But the question is, can the new Zenfone 5 2018 take on the competition? Or will Huawei’s upcoming smartphone steal everybody’s hearts once again? Check out our Huawei P20 Lite vs ASUS Zenfone 5 2018 specs comparison to know which smartphone between the two is the better option.

It looks like these two devices are really similar in a couple of different ways. For starters, they share a very familiar design. The two rocks the infamous display notch, ultra-thin bezels all-around, and even vertically-oriented dual cameras at the back.
The two also have identical numbers in other departments. There’s the Full HD+ screens, 4GB RAM, 64GB of storage, USB Type-C port and Android 8.0 Oreo (although they differ in the user-interface used).
The P20 Lite uses a higher-clocked processor, but the Snapdragon 636 chipset found on the Zenfone 5 is proven to be better. Also, ASUS’ offering has 3000mAh more battery.

But where did ASUS Zenfone 5 obviously won is in the camera and media department. This handset has better primary shooters that even has optical image stabilization built-in. It also has a stereo speaker setup with virtual headphone surround technology.
Still, both devices are really appealing options. So, it will boil down to the price and consumers’ preference.
If Huawei decides to price the P20 Lite maybe Php2,000 lower than the Zenfone 5 2018— then without a doubt, it’s the phone to go for. But if Huawei insists on leveling its price to ASUS, then going with the better spec-ed Zenfone 5 2018 for Php19,995 might be a better option.
