OnePlus still has it. After tons of iterations of their very first “flagship killer” smartphone, the company was still able to keep their title.
This time, we have the OnePlus 6T, the newest heir to the throne. Although they are only about six months apart, the 6T offers a slew of improvements over its predecessor — the OnePlus 6.
When the latter was announced, there were experts who were saying that people should just wait for the “T” version to arrive, as it’s believed that OnePlus could still bring more to the table.
Now that we have the OnePlus 6T, should you finally get it? Is it really worth the wait? And if you already own the OnePlus 6, do you really need an upgrade? Well, here in our OnePlus 6T versus One Plus 6 specifications and features comparison, we’ll see what’s the difference between these two devices to help you decide. Let’s start!

Let’s answer the questions we have earlier. If you already have the OnePlus 6, you don’t have to upgrade to this new one. Some of the key features of the 6T came from its predecessor, making the upgrade feel so impractical. But if you’re not, then the OnePlus 6T is definitely one of the best Android flagships that you can get right now.
For starters, we have the price. The interesting part about the 6T is it has the same starting price when the OnePlus 6 was initially launched, which is good since it starts with 6GB/128GB and offers tons of specs improvements.
Although it’s not listed above, it’s worth noting that the OnePlus 6T now has a smaller, waterdrop notch, which we we previously saw in devices like the OPPO F9. This allowed the phone to have a slightly bigger 6.41-inches screen. In addition, the newer model has Corning Gorilla Glass 6 while the older one has the fifth iteration.
Since it’s a late-2018 device, OnePlus was able to ship the 6T with Android 9.0 Pie out of the box. But those who own the OnePlus 6 don’t need to worry since the update will probably arrive sooner or later.
Another big change on the OnePlus 6T is the battery. It now has a 3,700mAh battery, which is significantly bigger than the 3,300mAh found on the OnePlus 6.
On the downside, OnePlus removed the 3.5mm headphone jack on the 6T. However, considering that the industry is really pushing innovations on their devices, we were already expecting that this would happen.
Thankfully, OnePlus is including a Type-C to 3.5mm jack adapter out of the box. The company is also offering their Type-C ready OnePlus Bullets headphones, which retails for a price of USD20 (~Php1,060).
As of writing, the OnePlus 6 has a starting price of Php30,990 for the 6GB /64GB model, which we expect to drop once the OnePlus 6T arrives in the Philippines.
The local pricing for the 6T is yet to be announced, but 6GB/128GB base model costs USD550 in the US, which is around Php29,500 when directly converted to Philippine peso. We’re expecting it to be priced similarly to its predecessor once it launches this month.
