OPPO’s midrange devices are some of the best-sellers in the local market today. Their latest release, the OPPO F9, immediately topped MemoXpress’ list just a week after it was released.
The OPPO F9’s success isn’t really that surprising. Just like what we said in our review, we liked its brand new design, decent performance, spacious RAM, and good cameras. These are just some of the features that a lot of people are looking for in a smartphone today.
However, it looks like someone is trying to ruin the F9’s success. This time, we have the new Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro, a smartphone that came from a brand that’s well-known on providing best-value products.
The Redmi Note 6 Pro will attempt to undermine those devices above it by trying to match all of the features that they can offer, for a cheaper price.
So, here in our OPPO F9 versus Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro specifications and features comparison, we are going to see if Xiaomi’s latest offering can indeed take on the more expensive handsets in the midrange market. Let’s begin!

Despite being way cheaper, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro was clearly able to conquer the OPPO F9 in this specs battle. Sure, OPPO’s offering has a few extras that are way better than Xiaomi’s bet, but I don’t think that it was able to justify the extra price that you’d be paying.
The OPPO F9’s attractive back panel and its tiny, waterdrop notch are definitely more impressive than the boring aesthetic of the Redmi Note 6 Pro. Its 25-megapixel front camera, 16-megapixel + 2-megapixel rear shooters, and the polished camera app makes it the perfect combo for taking pictures.
Its VOOC fast-charging technology is definitely an incredible feat for a device at this price. However, people might favor the larger 4,000mAh battery of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro over the OPPO F9’s 3,500mAh capacity.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro even comes with more modern connectivity features. There’s the WiFi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 5.0, and it even has an infrared blaster that lets you control any of your IR-enabled appliances.
Performance-wise, we expect them to have identical speed and reliability. OPPO used MediaTek’s Helio P60 processor on the F9, while Xiaomi utilized Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 636 processor for the Redmi Note 6 Pro.

Both devices also have a similar screen size. They come with a 6.3-inch Full HD+ IPS screen. But as stated earlier, the smaller waterdrop notch on the OPPO F9 means that there is less distraction on the screen, unlike the iPhone X-like notch of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro.
Other than the aforementioned pros, probably the only lead that the OPPO F9 has over the Redmi Note 6 Pro is the availability. As you all know, OPPO is present online and in almost all shopping malls nationwide.
On the other hand, the only way can officially get a hold of a Xiaomi device is through their stores in Lazada, Shopee, and in their few physical stores around the metro. Not to mention the fact that most of their releases easily goes out of stock once it hit the shelves.
But if you can get a hold of one, it will be absolutely worth it. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro has a retail price of only Php10,999 (3GB/32GB) and Php12,990 (4GB/64GB) — up to Php5,000 cheaper than the OPPO F9’s Php17,990 price tag.
Yes! the king is back with a vengeance! get this instead of the overpriced oppo and vivo crap!
Great review! I am a big fan of Redmi. They have come up with some amazing mobile of late at very cheap prices. The phones built up is good. It has good battery and it lasts long. Everything that one needs to have in a mobile phone and that too at a cheaper price.
Thanks for sharing, have a great day. :)
