We have yet another contender in the midrange segment. Just recently, Xiaomi released the Mi 8 Lite, the cheapest model in their current flagship line-up.
The Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite immediately gathered a lot of attention since its release. This device comes with a really capable set of specs that are confined inside a really premium body. If you’re looking for a proper midrange smartphone today, you should check this one out.
However, the Mi 8 Lite is not the only contender for being the best midrange smartphone for 2018. A few months back, the Honor 8X was also made available to the public.
Much like the Mi 8 Lite, the Honor 8X packs so much power inside a well-dressed package. This phone was built to cater the busy people who also want a flashy device to carry around.

I guess its pretty obvious. Specs-wise, the Honor 8X easily dominates the Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite. As you can see, the numbers on this device are just way better. However, that doesn’t mean that you should completely disregard Xiaomi’s offering.
As stated earlier, the Honor 8X is big in numbers, which is why it’s also, literally, an enormous smartphone when compared to the Mi 8 Lite. With its 6.26-inch screen, this one feels nicer in the hands, while still having a large enough screen for media consumption.
Xiaomi’s bet also brags a more gorgeous look with its gradient design and a really shiny material that you can even use it as a mirror. Moreover, it has better cameras, a more futureproof USB Type-C port, and comes with a 6GB RAM variant.
But if you don’t care about those features, then it’s pretty much the Honor 8X all the way. This handset sports an enormous 6.5-inch FHD+ screen. Although it’s bigger than the Mi 8 Lite, it’s relatively smaller when compared to other devices with the same screen size.

Its Mali-G51 GPU might be less powerful than the Adreno 512. However, Honor makes up for it with its GPU Turbo Technology, which really delivers smooth frame rates in some of the most popular games.
With its bigger chassis, Honor was able to cram in a relatively larger 3,750mAh battery, while the Mi 8 Lite only comes with 3,350mAh. Honor also kept the headphone jack on the 8X, while Xiaomi, for some reason, had to remove it. Thankfully, they did include a Type-C to headphone jack adapter out of the box.
Another great thing about the Honor 8X is its price. This smartphone retails for a price of only Php12,990, while the Mi 8 Lite’s price starts at Php13,990. The interesting part is, the 8X already have 128GB of storage, while the latter’s base model only comes with 64GB.
You can get the Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite with 6GB/128GB configuration, but you have to pay an extra Php3,000 as it retails for Php16,990. Both models are now available through their respective online stores, physical shops, and partner dealers around the Philippines.
“Specs-wise, the Honor 8X easily dominates the Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite.” Seriously!? Bigger screen and bigger battery that’s only the advantage of 8x over mi8 lite, today you can get the 6gb and 128gb for 12k.
which is better mobile?
Both the phones looks good, Both have excellent features to boast of however for me I think I will go with MI. I prefer their phones. They provide great value for money products.
