Xiaomi might have completely dominated almost the entire budget smartphone market. However, its unsteady and quite limited availability is leaving a room for other aspirants to get their share in the gadgets industry.
One of these hopefuls is Cloudfone. This company, just like many others, has always strived to offer appealing smartphones for the price — just like what Xiaomi’s doing since day one.
The question is, how does it stack up against Xiaomi’s bet? Does it have a chance against the Redmi 5A? That’s what we are here to figure out in our Xiaomi Redmi 5A and Cloudfone Thrill Snap specs comparison.

The Xiaomi Redmi 5A clearly beats the Cloudfone Thrill Snap in most aspects. The latter managed to score a tie in some areas, but the Redmi 5A is the obvious winner here.
For starters, the Redmi 5A runs on a faster and more efficient chipset. It also comes with twice as much RAM capacity when compared to the Thrill Snap.

Xiaomi’s handset also runs on a more dated version of Android, has smaller dimensions and lighter weight, plus a noticeably bigger battery. The Redmi 5A also has 4G LTE, which is a necessity in today’s fast-paced world.
But to credit the Cloudfone Thrill Snap, it does have a marginally bigger screen and a more pixel-dense selfie camera. Also, the Thrill Snap is slightly cheaper than the Redmi 5A, so it’s quite understandable that there are disparities in the hardware.
However, the Xiaomi Redmi 5A is only expensive by a couple hundred bucks, which is not too much to ask for what you’re getting when compared to the Cloudfone Thrill Snap.
The Xiaomi Redmi 5A is currently available in the Philippines thru Lazada for a price of Php4,390. On the other hand, the Cloudfone Thrill Snap is available in Cloudfone kiosks and authorized dealers nationwide for Php3,999.
