If you’re building your next PC and budget is not an issue, then check out the new 13th-gen Intel Core i9-13900KS, which is the first in the world to have a whopping 6.0GHz max turbo speeds.

As the name suggests, the 13th-Gen Intel Core i9-13900KS is a special version of the i913900K that came out last year. They are almost identical, only this time, this is 200MHz faster at 6.0GHz (from 5.8GHz) in terms of turbo clock frequencies.

Intel was able to achieve this using binned silicon. What’s more, the newer model has a higher base power limit of 150W (from 125W). The 253W turbo limit is the same, but the “S” model now has support for Extreme Power Delivery Profile that can up the power limit up to 320W which gives it an extra push to reach those higher clock speeds.

The company claims that the chip can reach those 6.0GHz numbers using a standard motherboard and AIO liquid cooler without overclocking. However, their own test video showed that the chip only hit 6.0GHz on a few P-cores under short duration via the 7-Zip benchmark.

As for the rest of the specs, the i9-13900KS has 24 cores that consist of eight performance cores and 16 efficiency cores. It also has 32 threads, 36MB Intel Smart Cache, and up to 20 PCIe lanes. The chip has support for up to DDR5 5600MT/s and DDR4 3200 MT/s. Plus, it works with Z790 and Z690 motherboards.

The Intel Core i9-13900KS is a special edition release that will be available on select markets starting January 12, 2023, for a price of USD699 (~Php38,500).
