Nobody asked for it, but we still have it. The new Lenovo ThinkStation P230 Tiny is exactly what it sounds — a small and light desktop PC.
The Lenovo ThinkStation P230 Tiny (yup, the word “Tiny” is part of the name) is a powerful desktop aimed at the professionals. This thing packs 7th-Gen Intel processors and a NVIDIA Quadro P600.
The GPU that’s been included on this machine isn’t particularly meant for gamers. Instead, they are made for professionals and creatives. NVIDIA Quadro cards might not be as powerful as the GTX 1080s, but it sure can nail 3D and CAD programs, and other for-creatives software Adobe Premiere Pro.
And since this is a real workstation, the Lenovo ThinkStation P230 Tiny can be equipped with up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM clocked at 2400MHz. It can also have a large and speedy 2TB of M.2 SSD storage.
Lenovo is also staying true with the ThinkStation P230 Tiny’s for-professionals title by filling it with ports. There are six USB 3.0 ports, front headphone/mic ports, a gigabit internet, four mini -DisplayPort and two DisplayPorts. This makes it perfect for those multi-monitor setups.
All these hardware cramped inside a tiny machine with dimensions of 1.4 x 7.1 x 7.1-inches. It also has a weight comparable to the MacBook Air at 2.9-pounds. And to achieve the thin and light profile, Lenovo went with a few compromises. For one, they used an external power supply that looks like a brick. An implementation we usually see on laptops.
The Lenovo ThinkStation P230 Tiny will have a starting price of $799 (around Php40,000). Official pricing and availability in the Philippines are yet to be announced.
