Hide your wallets because Cherry Mobile wants to get your money.

After multiple successful sales of the Cherry Mobile Flare S5 and Flare 5, leading local mobile brand is at it again with a new Payday sale.

The two devices on sale are the Cherry Mobile Flare J3 and Flare J2s. The first one gets Php700 off of its regular price of Php3,699, bringing it down to only Php2,999. Meanwhile, the J2s gets a Php600 discount – now only Php2,399 from its official SRP of Php2,999.

As the price suggests, these two smartphones aren’t powerhouses but they’re enough to get the job done for most people. The Cherry Mobile Flare J2s features a 5-inch 720p screen and it’s powered by a 1.3GHz MT6580 quad-core chipset and 1GB of RAM. There’s an 8-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel shooter. A limited 8GB of storage comes out of the box but it can be easily expanded through a microSD.

Cherry Mobile Flare J3 Specs

  • Android 6.0 Marshmallow
  • Dual-SIM (micro, nano)
  • 5-inch HD Display, 1280 x 720 resolution
  • 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6580 quad-core processor
  • Mali-400MP GPU
  • 1GB RAM
  • 8GB internal storage, expandable via microSD
  • 3G HSPA+
  • Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, hotspot
  • 8-megapixel rear camera with autofocus and LED flash
  • 5-megapixel front camera
  • Bluetooth v4.0
  • GPS, A-GPS
  • Fingerprint scanner
  • Dimensions: 144 x 72.3 x 8.5 mm
  • Weight: 150 g
  • 1900mAh mAh removable battery

Among the distinct differences between the two is the fingerprint scanner on the J3. Other than that, they’re very similar to each other. Both are limited to only 3G connectivity and they’re running on an almost unadulterated version of Android Marshmallow (with minimal bloatware).

Unlike previous sales, the Cherry Mobile payday sale will run for four (4) days starting December 15 up to December 18, 2016 and it’s available on all Cherry Mobile concept stores and kiosks nationwide. That gives consumers time to think and pick which one they like better. The fingerprint sensor is a sweet addition but if I were to choose between the two I’ll get the J2s.
