Yu Yu Hakusho, popularly known as Ghost Fighter in countries like the Philippines, is getting a live-action adaptation after more than 30 years since the original manga series came out.
The Yu Yu Hakusho live-action adaptation will be released exclusively on Netflix this December 14. The series will breathe new life into the story of the original manga creator Yoshihiro Togashi to appeal to the new and old fans of the franchise.

People have really high hopes for this one after Netflix’s One Piece live-action adaptation is a proven success. In fact, the streaming service will use the same formula by utilizing one big production team that includes creatives from Japan and the United States.
Netflix also used the most advanced visual effects and CG technologies from around the world to ensure the best quality. VFX company Scanline VFX, which has been hailed as “the most innovative FX studio in the world” is in charge of bringing human and spirit characters to life while also providing realistic action-packed battle scenes.
Netflix wanted to get it right so badly that production took five years to complete. We’ll see how good is the VFX and how well they stayed true to the source material once the Ghost Fighter live-action adaptation premiers on Netflix this December 14.
