Activision is abandoning Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile only after about a year and a half since it was launched on the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.
The developer made the official announcement on its official X account. They said they will stop bringing new seasonal content and gameplay updates to the mobile game. Players will also no longer be able to purchase Call of Duty Points or Black Cell using real currency.
Activision will also take down the game on the Google Play Store and App Store, as well as retire all social features, starting May 18, 2025 (US time).
Those who still have the game installed can play it with continued cross-progression of shared inventories using existing content, and access servers with matchmaking for online play. Unused COD Points can also be redeemed in-game toward available content in the Store.
As to why they are ending support for the mobile version of the game, Activision said that it has not met their “expectations with mobile-first players like it has with PC and console audiences.”
