Filipino game developers are on the rise, and this latest PC game called Insureksyon proves it’s making strides. What’s more impressive is that it was developed by students for their school project.
Insureksyon was developed by Paolo Alegre, Ryan Madrideo, and June Papina, students of Ateneo Naga University taking BS Digital Illustration and Animation, Major in Game Development, with supervision from adviser Edlaine Ann S. Mercado, MCGA.

The game is now available for download at itch.io with a “name your own price” donation. It’s available only for Windows PCs.
As per the description on the webpage, the game is a Warcraft-like 3D steampunk real-time strategy game that, while not directly based on Philippine history, gets its inspiration from the Katipunan’s revolutionary spirit.

The strategy game will let players build bases, expand armies, gather resources, and fight enemies in a three-part story campaign.
Gamers will play the role of a Heneral heading a fight for the revolutionary government called Republika.
The game will be downloaded as a .rar file and is only 464MB in size.

A lot of players have already shared their sentiments on the itch.io page. One commenter said that it’s “a very cool game. Especially as a student project.”
Another praised how it is “Visually appealing, with a clear presentation of the intended theme.” More users have shared constructive comments that we find really healthy for the emerging industry in the Philippines.
