Riot Games is adding something “big” to its growing portfolio of video game titles as word about a massively multiplayer online (MMO) game based on League of Legends is in development.

Sending shockwaves to the community is Riot Games’ VP of IP and Entertainment, Greg Street, who announced the idea on social media in a form of a tweet.

Initially hinted merely as a game that many in the community “have been asking” Riot Games to create, Street’s response to a follower’s tweet shed light on the fact that the game is indeed “MMO” by nature.

True to its claim of being “massive,” MMO is indeed an extensive undertaking that has many intricate, interworking aspects.

Luckily for Riot Games, Greg Street is a veteran in the industry with a resume that spans a decade and several years as a designer. As a former Blizzard employee, he was critical in bringing a handful of expansions to the still prominent MMO, World of Warcraft.
