After leaks and rumors from have beaten it to the punch, Microsoft via its Xbox Twitter account has confirmed the Xbox Series S. It weirdly looks like a speaker.
The cheaper, disc-less alternative to the Xbox Series X, the Xbox Series S will have an estimated retail price of $299 (approx. ₱14,500). It’s also smaller, so much so that Microsoft calls it the smallest Xbox ever.

The official announcement didn’t expound on the important specs. But per leaks, the Series S will sport the same GPU as the Series X but with lower performance at 4 teraflops. The CPU remains the same, an 8-core AMD Zen 2 that’s clocked at 3.8GHz. The Series S will also come with 10GB GDDR6 RAM and a PCIe 4.0 SSD storage.
In addition, the Series S can play all games earmarked for Series X, but with a performance target of 1440p 60FPS. It’s also backward compatible with all Xbox One games.
