1Sambayan, a pro-democracy coalition in the Philippines, said that its campaign app has been hacked last week.

The coalition claims that the cyberattack was done by its political rivals “to maintain in power.” The hacked app is called 1Sama Ako, which is used by its supporters and volunteers.

In an interview on DZMM’s TeleRadyo, Calleja said that the breach still happened despite the app’s safeguards because “obviously it was a professional hack.” The lawyer said that this cyberattack was an attempt to screw up the colation’s selection process.

Last Saturday, 1Sambayan have bared 6 people of its potential candidates for the next Philippine president and vice president positions. That’s the same day the app was hacked.
