The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) partnered with Google Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd. and online course provider Coursera to equip Filipinos with IT certifications and help them land lucrative jobs in the ICT industry.
The Google Career Certificate Program (GCCP) aims to equip unemployed individuals, university students, disadvantaged groups, micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) workers, and government employees with highly relevant tech skills.
Some skills included in the program include in-demand and high-paying domestic and international jobs, such as cybersecurity, data analytics, IT support, and project management.

The program includes the Google AI Essentials course, developed in collaboration with Google Asia Pacific and Coursera. It is designed to enhance productivity using generative artificial intelligence (Gen AI) tools.
The GCCP was launched in October 2024 during National Cybersecurity Awareness Month, emphasizing the government’s commitment to creating a cyber-secure nation, especially in an ever-changing technological landscape.
This is not the first time the DICT has partnered with Google to offer advanced IT certification programs to Filipinos, such as the Google Career Certificate program in 2022, at the height of the global health crisis.
