Giving the green light to the Adopt-A-School Program, global technology leader Epson Philippines in collaboration with the Department of Education (DepEd) has signed the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), which gives Oranbo Elementary School and Demetrio Tuazon Elementary School provisionary support to boost the learning of their students.
Chosen by DepEd themselves, the two public schools will become beneficiaries of state-of-the-art equipment, which includes Epson’s printers with their iconic heat-free technology, projectors, and scanners.
President and Director of Epson Philippines Masako Kusama said that Epson believes in the power of technology in “shaping the future of education”. In response to that idea, he claims that the company is dedicated to providing “sustainable and innovative solutions” for better learning among students.
Sharing the same belief, DepEd’s adherence suggests technology can be leveraged for both teaching and learning, which empowers both educators and learners alike through resources and opportunities that may otherwise be beyond reach.
As was held at Epson Philippines’ headquarters in Pasig, the signing ceremony was attended by Masako Kusama alongside DepEd-Partnerships Service-Adopt a School Program Secretariat Margarita Ballesteros, Demetrio Tuazon Elementary School School Head Shirley Alambra, and Oranbo Elementary School Head Diosdado Manubag.
Not the first between Epson Philippines and DepEd, the two had previously run a similar program called “Gift of Brightness.” It equipped deserving, yet underprivileged, schools across the country with equipment aimed at enhancing education among recipients.
