Whenever you log-in on your Netflix account, chances are you’ll be greeted with an automatic trailer or clips from a movie or series. While some people enjoy the preview, most find it annoying.
It’s when the company finally decided to listen to user complaints that we have now garnered directions on how to turn-off the auto-play feature of Netflix in previews and trailers. Here’s the step-by-step procedure:
How to disable Netflix autoplay
Sign-in your Netflix account on their official website.
Select your profile picture in the upper right, then click on “Manage Profiles”.
Choose which profile do you want autoplay disabled. Under the options for “Profile Name”, “Language”, and “Parental Controls”; navigate to the autoplay controls section.
Uncheck “Autoplay next episode in a series on all devices”. This prevents Netflix from immediately playing the next episode of a series you will be watching.
There is also an option to uncheck “Autoplay previews while browsing on all devices” which allows users to comfortable browse through Netflix without the preview playing whenever you check out a film or series.
Take note that this is only possible to do when you are accessing Netflix from the web browser. There are still no announcements on whether you can do the same process on your smartphone, tablet, or TV.
Don’t worry though, any changes you did on the browser will automatically apply to all devices where you log-in. The brand notes that there might be a delay before you can experience the changes you’ve applied. Again, no worries; simply switch to a different profile on your Netflix account, then switch back to your own profile again to ensure the autoplay is turned-off.
Again, it’s really just a matter of preference whether you want to watch snippets of the movie or series before hitting the play button. What do you think of this update? Would you rather have your autoplay feature on or off? Let us know your opinions in the comment section below.
