Up to 10.2 million homes can now be accommodated by PLDT’s ever-expanding fiber network, as the telco announced that it has rolled out 700,000 fiber-to-the-home ports nationwide.

According to the company’s senior vice president, Butch G. Jimenez, PLDT is relentless in its expansion amid hurdles introduced by the pandemic.

Besides the substantial FTTH rollout, PLDT also has 25 core data centers, three cable landing stations, and 15 international submarine cable network so far. With said assets, PLDT claims it has the most extensive and advanced digital transport network in the Philippines.

As a result of its expansion, PLDT has continuously made it into the top charts in Internet speed tests. The company notes it was named the fastest fixed network in the Philippines for three consecutive years, from 2018 to 2020, at the Ookla Speedtest Awards.
