Despite all the “smart” capabilities built within the iPhone devices, restrictions posed on any untouched Apple mobile device limit the users’ ability to do more of what they know their device can, but could not.

Of these features long been realized from their older computer counterparts, the ability to record one’s own screen real-time is perhaps every iPhone’s sorely lacking feature by default—something that is otherwise seen when jailbroken, thanks to third-party support.

While it is true that Apple integrated some hooks with later iterations of the iOS which will enable users to record their screens at whim via the so-called ReplayKit API, these are software tools that were meant to be used by program developers and not the common end-user.

But with the right understanding of how the iOS works in addition to the provided API, one developer made a program that give what many iPhone users had been longing for some time—the ability to record one’s own exploits as seen on their device’s screen and with the added bonus of adding interactive elements in it.

Not made by a single ingenious person but a good of creating people in a company called Flowboard, the app in mention as called the “Mobile Web Recorder,” a program so useful, the application can be practically used for educational purposes as well as entertainment.

“I built this app after I spoke to a number of FlowVella customers and potential customers who were finding it difficult or time consuming or just weren’t really able to create videos that show taps and interactivity of their mobile products, advertising units and prototypes,” said Mobile Web Recorder’s developer.

Not an application meant to be used in the homebrew community using a jailbroken device, Mobile Web Recorder is currently officially available at the Apple Store for $1.99.

Nifty as the tool may be, the only caveat to using the application is that it only works in a web-based environment (online application, game, or website).

Alternatively, you can just wait for the official release of iOS 11 which has native support for screen recording.
