Acer announced the new Nitro V16 gaming laptop and it’s one of the first machines to be powered by the newly-announced AMD Ryzen Hawk Point processors.
The new Acer Nitro V16 is powered by AMD Ryzen 8040 series processors, a line of chips upgraded with better AI capabilities. Oddly, the GPU is from another brand: the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 series laptop GPU with DLSS 3.5. There’s a dual fan system to ensure things stay cool even during heavy gaming.
You can get the machine with up to an AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS processor. Sadly, no Ryzen 9 option. Meanwhile, the top-tier GPU option is a GeForce RTX 4060, while the RAM capacity can for up to a 32GB DDR5 5600 and storage of up to 2TB PCIe Gen 4 SSD.
As the name suggests, it has a large 16-inch display with an option between WXGA and WUXGA resolution, a high 165Hz refresh rate, 3ms response time, and a 16:10 aspect ratio.
It then has a set of speakers with DTS X: Ultra. And, for better video calls, AI-powered Acer PurifiedView and Acer Purified Voice 2.0 with triple microphone array and AI noise reduction technology.
A built-in NitroSense software with a dedicated button lets you monitor the laptop’s performance and temperature. Ports selection includes a USB-C Type 4, two USB 3, HDMI, and WiFi 6E connectivity. Of course, it runs on the latest Windows 11 operating system.
The Acer Nitro V16 will be available in the United States in March 2024 with a starting price of USD999.99 (~Php55,500) and in EMEA in April with a starting price of EUR1,199 (~Php71,800).
