Chromebooks are known to have economical hardware but efficient software to cater to those who want a straightforward and budget-friendly machine. Now, Google’s line of laptops took a huge turn as it enters the gaming category.
While it’s yet to be made official, the Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Gaming Chromebook was unveiled after it leaked from the laptop brand’s official website, revealing its key features and design.

Chomebook’s first gaming entry will feature 12th-Gen CPUs, which come with either an Intel Core i3-1215U or Core i5-1235U model. It is paired with a decent 8GB of RAM and up to 512GB of fast NVMe SSD storage.
It then has a pretty packed 16-inch IPS display, which has a 2.5K resolution and TUV Rheinland Low Blue Light certification. Being a machine made for gamers, it boasts a smooth 120Hz refresh rate.

To further entice gamers, the Lenovo gaming Chromebook boasts a 4-zone RGB backlit keyboard and has an aluminum lid with an aggressive design.
Also onboard are stereo speakers, 2x USB Type-C port, the latest WiFi 6 standard, and an FHD webcam with a privacy shutter.
