Samsung has introduced its latest productivity laptop, the Galaxy Book 2 Pro 360, powered by the latest chips from Intel.
The Samsung Galaxy Book 2 Pro 360 comes with the 2nd-gen Intel Core Ultra processors which offer 20+ hour battery life that aims to compete with Arm-based chips. For this device, Samsung chose the Intel Core Ultra 7 256V chip with an Intel Arc 140V GPU 8GB and 47TOPS of NPU power for AI tasks and other Galaxy AI and Copilot+ PC features.
It then has a soldered 16GB LPDDR5X RAM, which means you won’t be able to upgrade it in the future. You do get two NVMe SSD storage options: 512GB and 1TB, and unlike the RAM, this one is accessible to the user.
With the new efficient chip, Samsung claims that its 76Wh battery can last for more than 25 hours of video playback. It charges via a 65W USB-C cable.
Despite its power, the device managed to be really thin at only 12.8mm and is fairly lightweight at only 1.69kg for a 16-inch laptop.
The star of the show is the large 16-inch OLED touchscreen that has an S Pen support. The device got its name from its hinge, which lets you rotate the display up to 360-degrees if you want to use it like a tablet. It also got a 120Hz refresh rate and a decent 2880 x 1800 pixel resolution.
Audio is provided by the quad speaker setup, which consists of two 3.3W tweeters and 2x 5W woofers. Dolby Atmos is also supported.
Samsung also didn’t skimp in available ports. We got an HDMI 2.1 input that supports up to 8K@60fps screens or 5K@120fps. There are also two Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports, one USB-A 3.2, a headphone/mic combo jack, and a microSD card reader. Wireless connectivity includes the latest WiFi 7 standard and Bluetooth 5.4.
The Samsung Galaxy Book 5 Pro retails for EUR1,699 (~Php105,900) in the United Kingdom. That’s for the 512GB model, while the 1TB variant is at EUR1,899 (~Php118,300). It will also be available in the US, France, Germany, and Canada this month.
