A new flagship smartphone is in town. Leading the pack of newly unveiled Cherry Mobile devices is the Omega Infinity, a 5.5-inch Android handset with an octa-core processor.
That eight cores are running under the Cherry Mobile Omega Infinity’s hood is nothing new—the Cosmos Z2 holds the distinction of being the company’s first octa-core smartphone. Nevertheless, employing such processor provides the Infinity an even match against the likes of the Starmobile Octa and the similarly named MyPhone Agua Infinity.

The Cherry Mobile Omega Infinity didn’t have a grand reveal as previous CM devices did, but we got sufficient information about the device thanks to the company’s latest smartphones pricelist. As such, we know this handset is powered by Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, uses IPS technology for its 5.5-inch Full HD display, and boasts a generous 2GB of RAM.
It also has an ample internal storage at 32GB, though we’re unsure if this is expandable via microSD card. Given that the 2900mAh battery is non-removable, the Cherry Mobile Omega Infinity is probably a sealed device (i.e., it has a unibody with an aluminium finish). Hopefully, that helps trim a couple of millimeters on the device’s thickness.
The remaining known specs are the usual connectivity options, and 18-megapixel rear camera (with what looks like a dual LED flash), and Miracast wireless screencasting. And while devices and users have just gotten used to 5-megapixel front cameras as the new standard, the Cherry Mobile Omega Infinity has forgone such sensor and favored a whopping 8-megapixel front shooter instead.
The Cherry Mobile Omega Infinity has an SRP of Php14,999. Bundled for free in the package is a Pyxis Bluetooth speaker, which costs Php1,499 when bought separately.

No for Non-Removable Battery. Cherry Mobile madali talaga masira. Kahit yung cheap 1K Phones nila. Yung phone ko na 3 Months palang, sira na agad yung mother board. Andun parin sa Service Center sa Manila, di parin na-ibabalik.
