Cherry Mobile has unveiled yet another smartphone with an attractive price of only Php2,299. For that amount, the new Cherry Mobile Topaz offers a dual core processor and HSPA+ connectivity.
The list below is what we know about the Cherry Mobile Topaz so far. We’re still in the dark about other oft-searched innards—amount of RAM, battery capacity, dimensions, exact CPU model, and other things—but we’ll update this post once Cherry Mobile reveals the full specifications. On the other hand, we do have an inkling of what the Topaz will offer by basing on the similarly priced Cherry Mobile Amethyst. It has 256MB of RAM, HVGA screen resolution, and 1200mAh battery. In fact, the outward appearance may be the only difference between the two.

In the meantime, Cherry Mobile has teased us more new-generation smartphones that are also inspired after other precious stones. Based on the shapes and colors, here are my guesses for the names: Onyx (black), Ruby (red), Aquamarine (light blue), Fire Opal (orange), and Emerald (green). Some of these “hidden treasures” may actually be the ones already available since last year (the Sapphire, Jade, Amber, and Gem), but reportedly there are a total of seven new Cherry Mobile smartphone gems releasing this year.
