Happy Mobile, a small player in the competitive Philippine mobile market, has announced the Aspire 2 smartphone.
It’s for the typical Android user who doesn’t want to spend big on smartphones. For only Php4,999, the Happy Mobile Aspire 2 offers a 5-inch IPS display, 1.4GHz quad-core processor and 1 gigabyte of RAM. It comes preloaded with Android 5.1 Lollipop. Perhaps the best appeal of the Aspire 2 lies in its outward design: an aluminum frame with curves and contours that are fairly reminiscent of expensive, premium smartphones.

The Happy Mobile Aspire 2 further offers a 13-megapixel camera at the back and a 5-megapixel shooter for selfies. It is dual SIM capable and has 3G connectivity. There’s 8 gigabytes of onboard storage, which can be expanded for an additional 64 gigabytes via a microSD slot. The 2500mAh battery should help keep the handset running for a while before it demands to be recharged.
As the name implies, the Happy Mobile Aspire 2 is the sequel to the original Aspire, a 5.5-inch handset with an octa-core processor, 2GB of RAM and Android KitKat for Php6,999.
Available in two colors, white silver and gold, the Happy Mobile Aspire 2 is retailing for Php4,999.
